Hmm. Well it seems like he likes you even more as a friend. It may just be his self-conscious nature that not allowing him to express his feelings. I would suggest to keep him close. You know hold his hand and tell him you enjoy spending time will him. Maybe that will loosen him up. As for the other girl from another school, she could be a cover or someone he likes. The only way to tell is ask him. I dont know if that's a good idea but it doesn't hurt. Dont push him around too much or make his choices(I'm not saying you are, just giving you something to chew on). Make your relationship as easy as breathing.
