50cc Scooter & No license?

I have a 50cc scooter, and when I lived in Arkansas, I knew it was legal to drive it with no license, much like it is in MANY other places, but now I live in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It's military installation, and my parents keep spit-balling me, telling me that I can't drive the thing until I get my license, because it is illegal. Is it still legal here? Thanks.
