Why did large-scale urban centers fail to develop in pre-European North America?

Holocene North America (north of the Chihuahuan Desert) possessed all the makings of a continent capable of supporting a relatively dense population: temperate climates, ample precipitation, indigenous fowl and flora, and a smooth, irrigable terrain immensely amenable to horticulture. And yet, despite all the qualities of this gentle continent, its inhabitants fell short of developing their own versions of Teotihuacan, Monte Alban, Calakmul, Cusco, or Tiwanaku. Why did urban centers larger than Cahokia fail to develop in North America? Was the lack of wild teosinte such an insurmountable obstacle to urbanization that dragged them far behind their Mesoamerican and Andean cousins?

My bf/husband to be attacked by neighbours.?

i am 26year old, liven with bf for the past 2 years, great guy, loving caring, real man(hides felines at times, but he big softie at heart), plus he's got great bod and handsome. but over the last week he hasn't been talkin to me as he's not been feeling well and he sleeping in different bed which is unusual. we have great life, i thought he wasn't interested in me any more or i had done something wrong. i am having a baby boy soon and we are both really happy, he is worse than me, normally dads aren't as excited, he's decorating a room already, bought foot!. we live in flat which is worth �900,000 and we the neighbours next door moved out, we expect some noise from neighbours as no one can live in silence, but the next door neighbours are making 24/7 racket, its just not something you'd expect in this area, they smash bottles on our door, they piss through the letter box. i cant sleep at night. my bf is there for me, he been across and got the guy who lives there and spoke to him, he promises to keep it down. but they start again, there's a few of them who live there, but when theres a party, which is usually every night! there is whole bunch of them. i have recently purchased a baseball bat as the police are useless, just for self defance and i have huge knife from kitchen sittin next to door, so if anyone pisses through letterbox they'll get chopped off, there father> super intendant. now over the past week my soon to be husband sleeping in spare room, he didn't tell me until today cause he didn't want me worrying and haven stress cause baby, a week ago, he went across when he saw the father (super intendant) who we think bought them the house as it his sons, my bf/husband to be just told me what he done, he grabbed his with his hand and basically squeezed them for about 3 mins until my bf was basically in tears and told him he would be keeping an eye on him and that he was a ********* and that he isn't happy that he was makin complaints to the police (he is police) about his sons + his sons will do what they like and that this area is his patch, also he would be seeing "us" around and it would be shame if something was to happen to "baby". he is in his fifties the guy is a coward, has to use coward tactics, my bf not been to work cause it still sore when he moves. his /testicles are all swollen and puffed up and red, i don't no if they could be damaged, i taken photos for proof and he goin to doctor to speak about this, my bf isn't violent and can be if someone was attacking him, but would never resort to low tactics like that. i normally see him naked in morning and in bed so it was weird for him to be in house and be keeping his distance. my bf told me stay away from them and especially in my condition with baby on way, he can hardly walk because it is sore and in pain, i have forced him to go to doctor and lawyer, he's embarred. its some macho pride thing. we got no witnesses. i feel awful for him cause i cant imagine the pain he is goin through. i bought him a really tight jock strap, so most time he sits with that on cause it comfier. wht do we do? can we do anything even though we have no witnesses. goin to police is pointless.

For Bankruptcy, is a paralegal just as good as a lawyer?

We are in a bind and only getting in deeper, so we have to file bankruptcy. We have a home and two vehicles we want to try and keep. Is a paralegal service that says they specialize in Bankruptcy just as compident as a lawyer? The fee's a lawyer wants to charge me is so steep I cant even pay her. And we are being sued so we have to get this done. Any suggestions or opinions?
